Indications

• Treatment of bacterial vaginosis.
• Treatment of certain protozoal infections including giardiasis, trichomoniasis, and amoebiasis.

Mechanism of Action

• Secnidazole: Works by inhibiting the synthesis of nucleic acids, which leads to the death of susceptible bacteria and protozoa.

• Absorption: Well absorbed after oral administration.
• Distribution: Distributed widely in body tissues.
• Metabolism: Metabolized in the liver.

Contraindications and Precautions
